Accountancy practices

Digital marketing for practices that would rather not do marketing

Most practices do not want a marketing programme. They want a steady flow of the right sort of client without the week disappearing into it. That means three separate things: being found, being easy to enquire with, and answering properly when somebody does, and it is worth knowing which of the three is actually costing you.

The outcome

Three different problems that all look like one

“We need more clients” almost always turns out to be one of three quite different faults, and the fix for each is unrelated to the other two. Practices spend on the wrong one constantly, usually the first, because advertising is the part that feels like marketing. Working out which one you have takes an afternoon and saves a year.

Which of these is yours

Nobody finds you
You are not on the shortlist when a business owner searches, because your listing is thin or your site does not answer what they typed. This is the slowest to fix and the one most practices assume they have.
They find you and do not enquire
The traffic is there and the enquiries are not. Almost always the path is the problem: no obvious next step, a form nobody wants to fill in, or a site that reads as a brochure for a firm that is not taking new work.
They enquire and you lose them anyway
The most common and the least visible. Enquiries arrive in the evening, at the weekend, or while everyone is in January, and the reply goes out two days later to somebody who has already spoken to two other firms.
You win them and the work eats the margin
Not a marketing problem at all, and the reason a practice can grow and feel worse. Onboarding, records and deadlines chased by hand will absorb every new client you win until that part is built properly.

What it’s worth

The cheapest gain is nearly always the last one first

Fixing what happens to the enquiries you already get costs less than generating new ones and shows up in days rather than months. It is also the only order that does not waste money: spending at the top of a chain that breaks at the bottom simply makes the loss bigger.

That is why we will not sell a practice advertising while its enquiry handling is broken. It burns your money and our reputation in the same quarter, and every competitor will take the budget either way.

How it’s built

Everything registered to your practice

The site, the listing, the number, the records. You own all of it, so nothing is being rented back to you and nothing switches off if we stop working together.

  1. Registered to your businessThe numbers, the database, the automations, the website and every call record sit in accounts in your organisation's name.
  2. We hold access, not ownershipOur route in is a permission you grant, and one you can withdraw without anything stopping.
  3. If we stop working togetherThe system keeps running and nothing has to be exported, because none of it was ever somewhere else.

What it takes

The check tells you which of the four you have

The free Leak Check searches for you the way a business owner would, contacts you the way one would, and reports what actually happened. You will know which of the faults above is yours, in your own numbers, whether or not you ever work with us.

What owners ask first

Do you specialise in accountancy, or is this generic?

Accountancy and private clinics. Both are professional practices where a single client is worth years rather than one transaction, where the buying decision is slow, and where the enquiry usually arrives outside working hours. The mechanics are genuinely shared; the language is not, and we do not pretend otherwise.

We tried an agency before and it did not work. Why is this different?

Usually because the agency ran the advertising and somebody else, often nobody, ran what happened to the enquiries it produced. When those are split, a lost client is always the other party's fault and nothing gets fixed. We do both, which is why there is nobody else to blame.

How much of our time does this take?

An hour at the start to agree what a good client looks like, an approval pass on anything that goes out in your name, and a short monthly review. If a proposal needs more of a partner's week than that, it is the wrong proposal for a practice.

Can you help with just one part?

Yes, and often that is the right answer. If the Leak Check shows the only real fault is enquiry handling, we would rather build that one thing well than sell you a programme you did not need.

What does it cost?

It depends on which of the four faults you have, so we look first. The Leak Check is free and comes with no obligation, and if what it finds is smaller than what we would charge to fix it, we will tell you that.
